I want to go back
to the abode of my father
and there I shall lay and rest;
in the comfort of His household
in the solace of the land of my birth
in the protection of My Maker
in the abode of all hopes.
Oh even for a while
Even for a time
I shall experience the joy
and the longing of the Saints;
Let me rest in my father’s arms,
let me feel His embrace;
Let me hear the song of the angels,
let me sleep in sweet peace;
Let my dreams be filled with,
the glut of His grace.
Let me play eternally,
and for a time be a child forever;
Unhindered by time
unrestricted by space
unconstrained by greed or envy;
unopposed by hatred,
undeterred by my weakness,
and limits of the things of this earth.
Let me swim in the vast ocean
where fishes of love reside;
Let me quench
my thirst of its sweetness,
let me drown in its most desired nectar,
which drives the wise to edge
and impels the martyr’s
willingness to die;
willingness to die;
O Most Merciful Father,
please allow me to go home;
Please close Your eyes
to not see my defects,
like when Your mind
had set aside my rebellion;
Let me be for a moment,
in Your eternal timeless time,
be truly
joyful;
And because You allowed me
to be with You,
I am, and I can be
no less than perfect,
and perfectly secure.
